Gabriela Alvarez, Founder and Director
Ms. Alvarez holds a degree in Economics from the University of Buenos
Aires (Argentina), an MBA degree from The Wharton School and an MA
in International Studies from the University of Pennsylvania (USA).
She is currently an Executive Doctorate in Management candidate at
the University of Cranfield (England). Her research is focused on
sustainable agriculture and the relationships among multiple stakeholders
in sustainability programs in the food and beverage sector.
Prior to creating Latitude, Mrs. Alvarez was a Global Account Manager with Monitor Company - an international strategy consulting firm founded by Michael Porter – where she managed client relationships and coordinated projects in USA, Europe and South America. She specialized in supporting corporate strategy development initiatives in changing industry environments such as telecom equipment, telecom services, biometrics and textiles. She also worked in public-private sector initiatives and Cluster Analysis in such as the Monitor Competitive Advantage of Nations project in Colombia and as a Consultant to the UNDP in Technical Cooperation issues.
Victoria Kemanian, Founder and Director
Mrs. Kemanian holds an Executive MBA from the HEC School of Business in Paris, a post-graduate degree in Marketing and Strategy from the University of California, LA and a degree in International Relations from the University of the Republic, Montevideo (Uruguay).
Prior to creating Latitude, Mrs. Kemanian served as Global Marketing Director at the McBride Company – a NY-based investor relations strategy consulting firm – managing projects in Europe, Australia, Latin America and the US, based in New York, London and Madrid. She led the Capital Markets practice, providing strategic counsel for foreign companies raising capital in the US market from the consumer, telecom, oil and technology sectors. She was also involved in the Public Affairs and Crisis Management Practices, specializing in communications with various stakeholders in crisis situations and corporate development transactions. Previously, she held executive positions in Marketing at Banco Santander and Coca-Cola in Latin America.
In the public sector, she has conducted economic development projects and capacity building programs with national governments, development agencies and UN bodies, particularly in the areas of private sector development and competitiveness through export strategy, market intelligence and niche market strategies. She is also active in program development, training and facilitation in corporate and academic programs in the areas of sustainability and strategy. Mrs. Kemanian has authored and contributed to publications on the issues of strategy, executive education, bottom of the pyramid markets, public-private partnerships and export strategy.
Thomas Malnight, Non-Executive Director
Dr. Malnight received a Doctorate in Business from the Harvard Business
School, an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania
and a BA from Northwestern University. He is currently a Professor
of Strategy and General Management at the IMD Business School in
Lausanne, Switzerland and a consultant to CEOs of several leading
global companies. Prior to joining IMD, he held academic appointments
at the Wharton School of Business and Harvard Business School.
His research interests focus on strategy development and execution, with a focus on the role of leaders and leadership teams. Dr. Malnight has written several articles that have appeared in the Strategic Management Journal, the Academy of Management Journal, and the Journal of International Business Studies, among others. He is a co-author of the books “Must-Win Battles: Creating the Focus You Need to Achieve Your Business Goals” (which will be published by Prentice Hall.Financial Times in September, 2005), and "Accelerating International Growth “.
