Roberto Cordón, Strategic Management, International Trade, Capacity-building Programs
Mr. Cordón holds a BSE in Chemical Engineering & International Affairs from Princeton University and an MA in Managerial Science and Applied Economics from the Wharton School of Business, with specialization in Multinational Management. He has over 10 years of business and academic experience in the United States, Switzerland and more than 60 other industrialized and developing countries. He is currently a Long-term Consultant on trade promotion and training at the International Trade Center in Geneva. He has also consulted on human resource management and social responsibility issues for the International Labor Office. Previously, he worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he was involved in the management, design and delivery of training workshops, and evaluation of institutional capacity in various African and European countries. Prior to joining PwC he was active in academic research and teaching, including two years as an Instructor in International Business at the Wharton School of Business. His research interests focus on organization and strategy of multinational corporations, multicultural management, privatization and enterprise restructuring, and the political economy of liberalization. He also developed and delivered undergraduate, graduate and executive courses in Political Economy, and has been invited to lecture in the United States, Europe, South and Central America. As a strategy consultant he specialized in the pharmaceutical and banking industries.
Brenda Steinberg, Coaching, Group Facilitation, and Training Design
Ms. Steinberg is a consultant specializing in enhancing the performance of individuals and teams. She does this through coaching and the use of a variety of tools such as 360-degree feedback, outdoor team building exercises, and personality and career assessments. Ms. Steinberg is certified to use the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and other specialized tools. As well as having private clients, she works as a coach on numerous executive education programs at the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Lausanne, Switzerland. She is also involved in the selection of faculty for executive education programs at the Management Centre Europe in Brussels and is a consultant to their leadership programs.
Ms. Steinberg has a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from the University of Michigan (USA). She also holds a degree in Biology-Psychology from Skidmore College in New York (USA). Prior to locating to Switzerland, Ms Steinberg had a faculty appointment at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. There she directed education, professional development and outreach programs for the Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences Institute. Accomplishments include the development of model training programs that were adopted by other Universities and disseminated nationally. She has obtained grants for her Institute from NIEHS, NIH and the EPA as well as over 20 corporations and private foundations in the USA.
Anabel Requena, Media and Entertainment
Mrs. Ana Requena holds a degree in Economics from the University Alicante (Spain).Prior to starting her independent consultant activities, Mrs. Requena was a business developer at Bertelsmann, where she was in charge of market researches leading to the launch of magazines in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. She was part of the younger professionals training program of the company and carried professional information projects in several European markets.
As an independent consultant Mrs. Requena has focused on analysis of media markets, including all types of publications for the general public as well as professional information. The scope of her studies has covered whole of Europe, specially the highly dynamic central and eastern European markets. These market analyses also included the formulation of strategies and the acquisition of titles and publishers. Mrs. Requena has developed, due to the experience in dealing with international publishing companies, an international benchmark system and has follows this project over 2 years for one of the biggest Swiss publishers.
Juan Martín Casamayou, Banking and Communication
Mr. Casamayou holds a BSc in Business Administration and an MBA from the Catholic University in Montevideo (Uruguay). He also served as an Assistant Lecturer at the same school in International Commerce, Commercial Banking and Finance.
He currently works as a consultant for the banking and communication
industries and directs a trading company based in Spain. Prior to that,
he held a number of executive positions within the Santander Central
Hispano Group in Uruguay and Spain. His latest appointments in Spain
were Commercial Director and Relationship Management Director for the
Marketing Division, specializing in designing and implementing business
strategies for 2400 retail salesmen located in 910 branches. During
previous mandates with the group in Uruguay, Mr. Casamayou managed
corporate transactions for over 90 corporate clients from the technology,
food, retail, pharmaceutical and automotive industries and performed
risk analysis. He also worked as a Senior Consultant for Arthur Andersen,
conducting projects within the public and private sectors.
